The Clarenville Marina was constructed in 2003 by the Clarenville Rotary Club with the assistance of a number of public and private partners. Two systems of floating docks, with secure gated entrances, accommodated approximately 40 boats. A large parking area and club storage shed were also constructed. In 2008, the Clarenville Rotary club transferred the ownership of the marina assets to the Clarenville Yacht Club.
In 2011, The Clarenville Marina underwent an major expansion. A breakwater was constructed to better protect the marina from damaging wind and waves. The docks were reconfigured and new finger piers were constructed to provide approximately 60 berths (50% increase in capacity). New power pedestals were installed to bring electricity and water services out to each berth. The original shed was converted into a clubhouse to hold executive meetings and member events. Finally, the club purchased a new Cono-Lift to allow the club to launch and haul-out boats and generate more revenue.
